Atkins Diet

The word “Atkins Diet” is a very popular one among people who want to lose weight. The Atkins Diet restricts carbohydrates while giving importance to  proteins and fats. This diet structure has given rise to many controversies over a period of time!

As the diet is structured, it is viably high in proteins and fat. So, now there arises a question – how does a food routine that is rich in fats and proteins become an evil diet? The fact lies in the way that the diet restricts almost all the carbohydrates, which is the prime fuel that gives the body energy!

According to the Atkins diet chart – it focuses on having proteins and fats like meat, seafood, eggs, butter, oils and cheese. And staying away from – bread, potatoes, cookies and so on.  Some researchers have found that, consuming foods that are low in carbohydrates, on a regular basis will lead to formation of kidney stones and causes kidney diseases.

On the contrary to all of the threatening facts of the Atkins diet, some research shows that it can do wonders!! Anything will be a success only if consumed or followed in proper measures. There are four phases of the Atkins diet – Induction, Balancing, Pre-Maintenance, Lifetime Maintenance. So, the Atkins diet when followed strictly will yield you the appropriate result for optimal weight loss and health.

In comparison to other weight reduction and eating methodologies, the Atkins diet is considered to be extremely healthy and effective. It may work for some and not for some others. Everyone is built differently.
