Active Release Technique

Active release technique (ART) is one of the most famous exercising methods for treating muscles, ligaments, tendons, nerves, fascia problems, etc with the management of the tender tissues of the patient. This technique was founded by P. Michael Leahy who was a famous chiropractor and active release technique developer. He invented this technique to assist his patients to get back from the injuries related to soft tissue.

Later on this particular technique became common among athletes and they started using it to treat their injuries and to improve the condition of their body before and after the game. This technique did bring a lot of positive effects and satisfaction and the given effectiveness and success rate made this massage therapy a regular medical care. Even it became a pleasurable treatment for commoners at spas and public massage parlors.

Since the body goes through a lot of pressure due to the tough activities every day, sometimes this pressure could lead to serious physical issues and problems like injuries and sickness. Back pain, carpal tunnel syndromes, headaches, knee problems, sciatica, neck pain, tennis elbow, shoulder pain and shin splinters are the common physical conditions that are encountered by inactive as well as active individuals. These physical hardships can be treated by using the ART (Active Release Technique).

When compared to other kinds of massage therapies, ART only focuses on bringing a whole amount of relief as you perform each motion. In this therapy, it is important that the patient moves through the various positions in accordance with the instructions given by the massage therapists, so that you can get better results. Here the therapist would work with the body of the patient and make it undergo various body movements and positions which would ineffectively loosen the muscles of the body, ligaments, tendons, nerves of the body.

The result would be that you would end up being more flexible and the body will be in a good condition. This technique is quite similar to the Thai massage and Acu-Yoga where passive yoga and active release techniques are used in order to treat patients. Such techniques would help in the better movement and flow of the blood and provide a huge amount of convenience in the relaxation of the muscle tensions of the soft tissues.

Active Release Technique is just like the common Asian massage therapy. It aims at concentrating on the main weak points and problematic areas of the body. Such areas are carefully worked on by the massage therapist in order to improve and evaluate the condition of the patients. Further, in this method different amount of pressure is applied on the selective areas present in the body so that it can trigger the quick healing capacity of the body and break down any kind of adhesions within the body of the patient.

Frankly, without any kind of proper treatment, the overused muscles can tear and cause a great amount of injury. Such problems will be commonly affecting the nerves, tendons, muscles of the patient. Effective and fast treatment is required in order to avoid further damage and ART is the best solution for it.
